How to fit window film
A wet-application method for a clean, bubble-free finish.
Fitting film is similar to applying a large phone screen protector — doable at home if you take your time.
- Clean the glass thoroughly. Any dust or grease shows through. Finish with a squeegee and lint-free cloth.
- Spray the glass with a slip solution (a few drops of baby shampoo in water works).
- Peel the release liner and spray the adhesive side too.
- Position the film on the wet glass — it will slide, so you can line it up.
- Squeegee from the centre outwards to push out water and air.
- Trim the edges with a sharp blade against a straight edge, leaving a hair's-gap from the frame.
- Final squeegee, then leave to cure.
