How one-way privacy film works
Why reflective privacy is a daytime effect — and reverses at night.
One-way reflective film works by reflecting light. The brighter side becomes the side you cannot see through.
In the daytime
Outside is brighter than inside, so from outside the window looks like a mirror and you keep your privacy — while you can still see out.
At night
Once it is dark outside and your interior lights are on, the effect reverses. Now inside is the brighter side, so people outside can see in and you cannot see out. Curtains, blinds or a frosted film solve night-time privacy.
